Dr. Mark Gross has been in practice at Lake Cook Orthopedics, a Division of Illinois Bone & Joint Institute since 1985. His specialty interest include the treatment of spinal disorders, arthritis, sports medicine, fractures, pediatric orthopedics, hand problems, and neurologic abnormalities. He specializes in comprehensive conservative and surgical intervention in these areas.
Dr. Gross is an Attending Physician at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Illinois. During his career he has served as the President of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Physician Representative on the Governing Council, Chairman of the Surgical Steering Committee, Director of the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Spine Center, as well as other committee appointments. He is a member of the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital PHO Board as well as a Board Member of Advocate Physician Partners Management Board. He is Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Chicago Medical Society and the Illinois State Medical Society. He has given numerous community presentations in the areas of sports medicine, arthritis management and joint arthroplasty, and the treatment of spinal disorders.
Dr. Gross has been actively involved in community activities in the Barrington area. Past volunteer participation includes School Board Chairman at St. Anne School, Parish Pastoral Council Chairman at St. Anne Church, Cub Scout Leadership, and numerous area sports program coaching including basketball, baseball and girls softball.
Dr. Gross enjoys golf, swimming, cycling and scuba diving. He and his wife, Christine, are avid patrons of the fine arts in Chicago and love to travel. His two older children are Medical Doctors. His son, Steven, is an Orthopedic Surgeon. His elder daughter, Kristin, is a General Surgeon. His younger daughter, Jaclyn, has a Masters in Nursing Degree.
