Dr. Steven Gross is an orthopedic surgeon at Lake Cook Orthopedics, a Division of Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. Originally hailing from the Barrington area, where he grew up, Dr. Gross is excited to contribute his orthopedic expertise to the area.
Dr. Gross completed his residency at the renowned NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, NY. While there, he was educated at several tertiary care centers, including the two busiest Level I trauma centers in New York City. As part of his residency, Dr. Gross was trained extensively in all aspects of orthopedic care, including operative and nonoperative management of a variety of conditions. He had direct clinical exposure with several leaders within orthopedics, and also worked with one of the team physicians for the New York Rangers.
Following residency, Dr. Gross completed additional training in the fellowship in orthopedic trauma and fracture care at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Carolinas Medical Center is one of the busiest trauma centers in the country, caring for thousands of injured patients every year. His education there focused on the advanced management of complex fractures, malunions, nonunions, and post-traumatic arthritis/deformity. He also received extensive training in the treatment of fractures of the acetabulum and pelvis.
Dr. Gross’s primary orthopedic interests include fracture care, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, management of arthritic conditions of the joints, and joint replacement. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing guitar, and hiking. He currently lives in Lake Zurich with his family.
